To Bring In The New Year

ExVee, 01/01/2006

With a new year ahead of us hopefully full of shiny new wonderful figures, we're bringing to you a retrospective, a kind of awards show even. It's a look back at the best (and worst) of Gundam MSiA from 2005. We do this ever in the hope of informing you as to what's worth your time and money, and so hope that this can serve as a sort of quick reference to the high and low points of the year's offerings.

In order to bring this to you, we've added a new member to our team. RAC and I would like to welcome Magnus P.I. to the club. Magnus is a skilled reviewer, and we're very pleased to be working with him. Look for reviews from him a little down the road. But in the meantime, see his first contribution providing a third voice to It Figures! Gundam Of The Year.

We're still working behind the scenes, which is usually why you'll find a month or so with no new content. The Zeta Project II is coming soon - look for that in the next two weeks. 2005 has been a great year for us here, and we hope to bring you even more in 2006!

New Year, New Gundam

RAC, 1/12/2006

Tamashii Web has posted its page for the Extended MSiA Gundam. While we'll have to wait for larger pictures and hands-on experience to know all it's capable of, you can see the nifty new shoulder joints here, as pioneered on the MSiA Gabthley. You can also see that it's a lot closer to the anime's styling than any previous MSiA of the RX-78.

Unfortunately, it looks from here as though it features neither the Core Block ExVee wants, or the flexible midsection that I'd hoped for (and can be seen on the Gundam: The Origin RX-78-02 figure). Even so, it looks good, and well-articulated, and the other pictures that have circulated suggest a robust assortment of accessories- both the same loadout the Gundam always gets and some interesting Battle-Scarred-style pieces for your Zeonic EMiAs. There's only approximately a month to go until release, so it probably won't be long until we have a better sense of the figure.

And of course, to tide you over, Zeta Project II is on the way. Stay tuned!
