October 2005October 2005You cannot destroy my Destiny RAC 10/14/2005 October's first review is of the Destiny Gundam, whose fate has now been fully revealed with the recent end of Gundam SEED: Destiny. Opinions on that ending vary wildly, so I'll restrict my comments to the figure since that's why I'm here, after all. If something were done about the arm accessories, Destiny would, as I say in the review, be an Excellent toy. As it is, it does enough things right that I recommend it to fans of the MS anyway. It puts me in mind of an expert martial artist who can perform the most complex and graceful of manuvers- and falls flat on his face when he goes to do something as simple as taking a bow. Even so, a careful person can get around these things, as the photo shoot wasn't even as half as painful as I expected- in total, I think each of the Boomerangs, knuckle guards, and shield fell off only once. It's a fine figure for display, but not hardy enough for play, I fear. As for our next review, the timeframe, as usual, is currently unknown to me. But I believe ExVee has something to tell you all about... Let's Talk About This ExVee, 10/14/2005 Starting today, we're pleased to introduce the It Figures! Forums. With the recent shutdown of the Gundam Official forums, RAC and I have been inspired to try and provide an alternative. Though some have already popped up under familiar management, we're offering a more relaxed environment, and hope that you'll be inclined to come and give us a try. But first, I hope you'll take a moment to read through our Policies. I don't think we ask anything unreasonable, and staying within the rules will ensure a good time for all involved. We'd like to thank all our visitors who have made this site a success, and we hope that you'll come by and make the forum an equal success. A New Link ExVee, 10/20/2005 Ordinarily I don't call attention to new offsite links, but I'll make an exception this time. Today we've added a link to Titans Test Team Arc, one of the more unique English Gundam resource sites. Focusing on the Advance of Zeta manga series, it's one of the few general resources available for this series, and quite possibly the only one in English. Their message board is a wealth of information and collected images of the series' mobile weapon designs, and translated story synopses. This board should be on everyone's list of valuable resources, so go by and let the people running it know that their work is being seen and appreciated. More Cybertron ExVee, 10/23/2005 These days, I really have to budget myself and prioritize in order to get the stuff I really want to be able to review here. Usually that means skipping a number of things I might otherwise have an interest in, like Transformers. But sometimes there's a Transformer that I just have to have for whatever reason, and Armorhide was one of those. So I grabbed the first one I found, and here's the review of Armorhide! Incidentally, we're hoping to bring a special feature review later on this week, so check back sometime around Wednesday. Unless it's not ready yet, then check back later. |
