Finally!

RAC, 11/19/2006

I meant to get this review of Classics Optimus Prime posted much closer to the date on the review, but stuff happens, and real life comes first.

It's hard to say which Prime on the market is the best right now. If you go to your toystore, you may well be able to find this Prime as well as:

-Cybertron Leader-class Prime (and his "Galaxy Force" recolor), who is a smorgasbord of references to previous figures and really neat in his own right,

-Cybertron Deluxe Truck Prime, who is the fourth recolor of the superb Armada mold, and

-Cybertron Deluxe Jungle Planet Prime, a recolor of Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Optimus Primal that can be seen near the end of the Classics gallery. He is also a really great toy.

Even among this distinguished company I feel that this Optimus Prime does have a visual distinction- he's sleeker, and more dynamic in build than any of these others. He looks neat. Also, in case it matters to you, he's an entirely new design based on and intended to re-present the original Optimus Prime. Even in that he's not alone, since there's a reissue of Anniversary Prime and (as part of a 2-pack) a new mold of original-body Prime available right now. Truly, you would have to spend nearly $200 to get all the Primes swarming about right now. More if you factor in Primals. But this Prime is really great, and the entire Classics line is looking good. It's a good year for Transformers, but they nearly all are, anymore.

We are always continuing to update as time permits. Check back soon for more toy reviews!
