July 2005July 2005We're still here! RAC 07/17/2005 Sorry for the lateness of this update- various circumstances (including just plain inexcuseable laziness on my part) have prevented us from adding new reviews until now. But as an apology, have a new MSiA review for the Dark Dagger-L. It's always nice to see a figure with little to nothing wrong with it. Dark Dagger-L is a solid grunt MSiA, and even if I never own more than one, it's a pleasure to have the option. In other toy news, more Clones have been announced at San Diego Comic Con, much to this penny-pinching reviewer's dismay. While I want to be comprehensive, money is a factor, and I may alter the focus of the roundup to include one of each body type, as all the newly announced figures are recolors. Either way, the Roundup will include release information that is as complete as possible, identifying each new release's body type at the very minimum. I have no intention of going more than a month until my next review- particularly now that Transformers: Cybertron is on the market and I've picked up a few choice figures. Stay tuned, and sorry once again for the delay. Fiftieth, Third, First RAC 07/25/2005 By my count, this is the 50th review we've posted since the site opened earlier this year. What's more surprising, considering our shared tastes, is that this is only the third Transformers review out of those fifty. It's also worth mentioning, however, that it's the first review for the most recent line, Transformers: Cybertron, and I think the odds are that this number will increase as we find new Transformers we like. Hot Shot, just to continue the numerical theme of the post, is I believe the fourth mold to be given this name (counting the Spychanger of the same name from Robots in Disguise) and the second Hot Shot I know of to pay tribute to Hot Rod. Despite having a lot of history on his wide shoulders, I think he stands on his own merits very well. A wise choice on Hasbro's part to give him his own unique color scheme, something very different from previous versions of either character. He's mainly a very attractive shade of pearly blue, which is murder on flash photography. Did you think you'd get rid of us that easily? Think again and check back frequently- we'll be back with more reviews before you know it. |
