July 2006It Figures needs your help for a special project!ExVee, 07/11/2006So, hey, we all know those little Collection Data Sheet cards that have come with pretty much all MSiA released after April, 2004 starting with the Full Armor Gundam. But, how many of us actually have every single one of those cards available for reference? I'll bet a couple of our number here have not missed so much as one figure from the last two years, but for the majority, I'm sure there's spaces missing. Thus was born the concept for a new special feature for It Figures! An archive of high resolution scans of the front and back of each card - all 75 of them so far. However, even between us RAC and I do not have everything, and that's where you come in. What I ask of you is to check the list at the end of this message and if you have a listed card and a scanner, to scan the front and back of your card at 300 dpi. Save them as two separate files in either PNG or low-compression JPG format for best image quality. I can offer little reward for your troubles, except a credit on the site, and my personal thanks. And that may not be the end of it. Once we have the complete set available, there may even be a chance to shop them around and get quality translations made so that all English speaking fans can finally benefit from whatever information is contained within. Scans should be e-mailed to figurereviews@gmail.com. Remember, don't worry about file size, image quality and size are what's important! 0002 Aile Strike Gundam 0004 Astray Blue Frame 0007 Maguanac Corps (Toys Dream Project) 0014 ZZ Gundam (New Packaging Version) 0015 Buster Gundam 0018 Leo Set (Toys Dream Project) 0019 Zeong (New Packaging Version) 0025 GM and Launch 0027 Char's Zaku Second Version (New Packaging Version) 0028 Duel Gundam 0048 EMIA Titans Mk II 02 0054 GuAIZ 0055 Strike Dagger 0057 Windam (Mass Production) 0061 Gaia Gundam (Andy) 0062 Aile Strike Rouge 0066 The-O (New Packaging Version) 0067 EMIA Char's Zaku 0075 Marasai and Galbaldy Beta TTT Colors It's okay! It's the summer rerun season!ExVee, 07/28/2006It Figures! will be going on a brief hiatus while we work on some internal matters here over the month of August. While you probably won't notice anything different by the time we come back in early September, trust me, much is likely to have been done, and we'll have plenty of time to bring you a month of fantastic new content. In the meantime, if you have any of the Collection Data Cards still shown on our list, please send us those scans. Our project can't come together without your help! Many thanks to all of our visitors - without you, we wouldn't be here. See you all in a few weeks! Chaos, Now In Convenient Pocket-Size!ExVee, 07/19/2006One of our more timely articles, today we bring you a review of Deluxe Unicron from the tail end of Transformers Cybertron. Doing a redesign such as this is always a tricky matter, since there's demands both to maintain recognition as well as bringing a new element into play. But if Hasbro can do one thing with Transformers, it's reinvent, and that they've done. Though a number are mentioned in the review, there's one I forgot and so will add here. Unicron's Cyber Key Power is actually very similar in function to the Mini-Con gimmick from the planet mode Unicron toys where a cannon pops out of a hatch on his torso. I still say this one isn't executed too well, though. It's a scale thing. In other news, the announcement of several new MSiAs at Tokyo Toy Show has RAC and I filled with much enthusiasm for the end of the year, especially with utter surprises like the Methuss and Mega Bazooka Launcher, paired obviously to benefit the EMIA Hyaku Shiki as well as recreate the scene from the second Zeta Gundam movie. Presumably that would mean it will come with special parts to hook up to the MBL. We can but hope the eventual EMIA Gelgoog will be designed with a similar function. Assuming anybody remembers the original form of that scene from episode 42 when they're designing the Gelgoog's parts... Two more GOUF Ignited coming along, which is fine with us. Just like the ZAKU series, a base figure that good simply demands reuse as much as possible. And further along the "no surprise" front, a standard colors Gaza-C to go follow Haman's Gaza-C selling in November. It's shaping up to be an excellent year ending, along with more rereleases including the Kampfer, Zeong, Gabthley, and transforming Wing Gundam and Wing Zero. Good news for anybody who's missed out before! Right! Grasp Truth in these hands!ExVee, 07/06/2006This, for a number of reasons, is pretty overdue. You may have noticed in the EMIA Justice review that references were made to today's review of the Infinite Justice. Originally it was to be posted within just a few days of EMIA Justice, but the best laid plans, right? Despite being clearly inferior to its successor predecessor, it's still quite a good figure, and still a bit cheaper. Not everything can be Extended, afterall. So, in other news from Gundam Board in Action!!, the September issue of Dengeki Hobby Magazine will feature as the special pack-in UC Arms Gallery Hazel beam rifle from the Advance of Zeta series. For those not in the know, it's very similar to the Gundam Mk II rifle, sort of like if a beam spray gun was made based on the Mk II rifle, you could say. I think it's pretty cool, and explains why the actual Mk II rifle from Vol. 3 wasn't made to convert into the Hazel's rifle. The issue of Dengeki Hobby is currently available for preorder from Hobby Link Japan, and will release around the end of August. Also revealed recently is more details of the EMIA Gundam Mk II Atmospheric Entry set. In addition to the Flying Armor, it will include two new sets of hands, seemingly retooled beam sabre racks, and most amazingly, a to-scale figurine of Amuro falling out of the sky, marking the first MSiA scale human to be released. I personally hope it begins a trend of at the very least other scene-notable characters being included with relevant figures, regardless of if they're the size of a flea or not! I have some fun content planned for pretty soon, so be sure to check back! |
